I received my nicer dicer and could not wait to try it,l was worried that l would break it or thought l had no strength so l asked my husband to use the nicer dicer, l was trying to cut up the onions and l couldn't do it so my husband had a go and he had to cut the onion in half first and then pressed down with all his might what a mess. Then he tried a potatoe same as the onion. This was a waste of money and l have asked for a full refund.
Essential Kitchen Gadget August 18, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Please note first I didn't buy my nicer dicer from here but from a JML display in a store retailing at 19.99.
I love it and it cuts through everything I have tried with it, from potatoes to tomatoes with no problems whatsoever. It came with two sets of blades ie a larger and smaller dicer and two bowls. I have used it with loads of vegetables and it does exactly what it says it does.
It is extremely easy to clean and the dicing units goes flat with a couple of flicks of a switch underneath it which means the food trapped is easily wiped off.
I know I bought the genuine article because it was from a well known shop and on a JML stand. This piece of equipment does exactly as the advert says it does without a shadow of a doubt. Apparently there are cheap copies about from reading reviews here so be careful in what you buy but be assured if you buy the geniune product it is an excellent bit of kit.
Dicer? August 1, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is only a dicer for certain foods. I wanted to save preparation time when cooking my baby's food but in order to dice a carrot, for example, you first have to chop it into thick slices (which isn't really saving time) rather than putting half a carrot into the dicer which just gives small strips. So I had to then chop the strips myself into cubes which defeats the object of a Dicer. Good for onion and tomato. Glad I didn't pay 30 for it.
Brilliant chopper August 1, 2008 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
This is easily the best kitchen gadget I've got. I use it all the time to make salads, chop onions etc. As long as your veg are fresh (it doesn't like onions that aren't crisp, for example), it chops perfectly in one movement and everything is collected in the container so there's no mess. And you can put the container in the fridge as it's got a lid. Even tomatoes can be chopped as long as you cut them in half first and put them skin side down, cut side facing you. If it doesn't get right through an onion (cut half at a time) in one go, take off a couple of the layers and cut them separately. Herbs, spring onions, salad veg, cucumber (to dice, cut into cm thick slices and pile up on the cutter) - all diced minutely and to perfection. I love it!!!
Broke in the first week July 29, 2008 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
As others have reported this thing is a great idea but absolutely rubbish construction. The blades bent and then broke out completely just trying to chop a raw potatoe - it went straight in the bin..
