1 out of 5 stars Oh dear!   March 28, 2008
Bought this as a Christmas present - worked fine for all of 6 weeks before breaking! Trying to organise a return which is a nightmare as ver 30 days and I keep going round in circles!
Anyway, be wary as not robust at all!

1 out of 5 stars Shoddy is a good word for it!   March 19, 2008
I must agree with the other reviewer - the springs popped out and I spent ages trying to put them back in - and the coating came off the screw and some of it ended up in the bottle since it was scraped off on the cork for the bottle (maybe I even consumed some who knows!)

I think all in all its a bit dangerous and definatly shoddy. Lightening is a good word to describe the speed of decline in your opinion of the product once you use it.

5 out of 5 stars Great (hic) opener   January 13, 2008
A seriously good opener and terrific value against others at 10 times the price. No hestitation in recommending.

1 out of 5 stars Shoddy pice of equipment   January 11, 2008

I bought one of these as it looked a nifty way of opening a bottle of wine and was also a lot cheaper than many of the others on the market.

Shoddy does not do it justice, upon opening it one of the two internal springs fell onto the floor, the plastic handles were loose and poorly made and upon opening our first bottle of wine it stripped huge amounts of the coating off of the screw itself. Am returning it for a refund within 24 hours of it turning up. A very disappointing and incredibly shoddy item, avoid!!!

5 out of 5 stars Superb value for money and easy to use   January 8, 2008

I definitely recommend getting one of these. Opening bottles of wine is truly effortless and there is no chance of getting bits of cork in your wine.

The foil cutter is ok, does the job.
