5 out of 5 stars Great combination and works   January 3, 2009

Tefal Toast 'n' Egg TT550015 Toaster and Egg Maker
Just such a good idea and it really works!! Such a clever combination. Looks really good and makes the best even toast .Takes a bit of experience to get the egg cooked the way you like ,but simple enough to work out the timing.
If you like the idea get one. LB.

this is the best toster i have owned - great design and works perfect -

dont know why people say you have to watch eggs or they are hard - you just put the correct level of water in which is clearly marked on the beaker. it then cooks your eggs to perfection and turns off once it is done! soft, medium or hard they are always perfect for me!!

great having a crumb tray as well so its a cinch to clean!!

5 out of 5 stars Excellent Gadget   September 2, 2008

This is excellent. Poaches eggs perfect, boils eggs perfect. They should really make one that cooks up to 4 peices of toast and 2 poached eggs.

It does do up to 4 boiled eggs though - very good.

5 out of 5 stars Fantastic!!   August 12, 2008

We are extremely impressed with this product, after the first go we had got our poached eggs just right. With boiled eggs you need a tiny bit less water than stated on the measuring jug but it's still a great invention. Just one thing like another reviewer said, shame it doesn't do 2 poached eggs at a time. Toaster is fab too and will take really thick slices of bread. Well worth the money!

2 out of 5 stars Return to Drawing Board   August 9, 2008

Wonderful idea in theory, but needs to go back to the drawing board. As another reviewer points out, the toaster is too small in depth, as slices protrude from the top if not from a square sandwich loaf (probably designed with egg muffins in mind, not sliced bread) also I have not had a soft poached egg as of yet, despite experimenting with different quantities of water. All eggs poached so far have stuck to the non - stick poaching tray despite spraying with oil, making them extremely difficult to remove from the tiny pan, however the idea of using one appliance to do several tasks is fantastic: If it only worked.
