Product Description
The Salter Black & Chrome Slimline Kitchen Scale has an easy to read display with 20 mm high digits and metric / imperial conversion. The easy to clean slimline platform is stainless steel and small enough to store away neatly. Features include aquatronic liquid measure function and add & weigh feature. This scale measures 160 x 180 x 2 mm. powered by lithium CR2032 battery which is included. Salter are so sure that this scale will develop a fault they have give it a 15 year manufactures guarantee.

4 out of 5 stars One SMALL Problem   December 31, 2008
You just cannot turn it off. The button it attached to the weighing mechanism, so pressing it makes it think you are using it and it stays on. Other than that, fabulous :-)

5 out of 5 stars This set is great   December 24, 2008
The scales are perfect for a small kitchen, can be put away anywhere and wipe clean easily.
The controls are easy to use and there is a variety of units of measurement to choose from. Just put a bowl on, zero it and off you go.
Really glad I chose this.

5 out of 5 stars Super Salter Scale!   December 20, 2008
Having just returned from living abroad I've had to buy many new kitchen items; my sister showed me her little Salter Scale and recommended it, so when I saw it here on Amazon it was the first thing to go into my shopping basket. I love it, and although only delivered a week ago has been used several times already. It's SO clever, and SO easy to store in my tiny kitchen, taking up virtually no room at all. I love to bake but hated my old fashoned set of scales with separate bowl, and all that faffing about having to adjust the weight thingy because the slightest thing upsets it. The Salter scale is so accurate, even for weighing my Christmas cards! Oh - and the fact that you can change from imperial to metric, from solid to liquid.....clever!

3 out of 5 stars Only useful for small bowls   December 4, 2008

In my opinion there is a design fault with these scales. If you place a large bowl on the scales you cannot see the digital reading because the bowl obscures it. Ideally you should be able to add all the ingredients for a cake one after the other in a mixing bowl, but with these scales you need to weigh them in a smaller bowl first. I would recommend you buy scales where there is more distance between the displayed digits and the actual scale.

lasted just under 6 months then no longer able to zero or change units and before you ask yes i did change the battery and try to let it reset by removing battery for several hours on several occasions. old adage you get what you pay for avoid.
