I would never have bought one of these seemingly pointless gadgets. However, a friend gave us one, and now I cannot imagine living my life without it. It just slices off the top of the foil in a very neat way, so you dont have to peel it off or have it ragged and have wine dripping everywhere. In the great scheme of things this is a pointless object, but when you are opening wine you will be so glad you have it, you will love it and wonder how you coped before.
